Traffic Shift of I-95 Southbound between Exit 46 (Sargent Drive) and Exit 45 (Route 10 - Ella Grasso Blvd) in New Haven Scheduled for Monday, August 8, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic shift on I-95 Southbound between Exit 46 (Sargent Drive) and Exit 45 (Route 10 – Ella Grasso Blvd) in New Haven is scheduled to occur Monday, August 8, 2011 between the hours of 9 PM and 6 AM. The traffic shift will be in effect for approximately one month.
The existing lanes on I-95 Southbound will be shifted to the left, towards the median, to facilitate parapet construction adjacent to the Sargent Drive on ramp. All work will occur weather permitting and will be rescheduled if necessary.
The work in Contract E2 is part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program and includes the construction of a new ramp (Route 34 Flyover Bridge) from I-95 NB to Route 34 WB at Exit 47 in New Haven. The project also includes reconstruction of the Route 34 WB Bridge over Brewery Street, relocation of the Exit 46 ramps at Long Wharf and Sargent Drives and the construction of a second lane from I-91 SB to I-95 SB. The project is in advance of the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge and the I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange.
