The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that it is developing plans to revise the traffic control signal to update the existing equipment and provide an exclusive pedestrian phase at the intersection of Route 1 (Boston Post Road) at State Street in the Town of Guilford.

It is the Department’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken and it is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project’s development.  If there is adequate interest, an informational meeting will be conducted.  At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary.

The design plans for the project are expected to be completed in December 2012 and the project is tentatively scheduled to be advertised for construction in January 2013.
