Resurfacing and Safety Improvement Project on I-84 in the town of Manchester Scheduled to Start July 18, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the start of a resurfacing and safety improvement project on I-84 east and westbound from Exit 60 (Rte 6 & 44) to west of Exit 63 at the Slater Street Overpass in the Town of Manchester.  The project is scheduled to begin on Monday July, 18, 2011.
DOT Project No.0076-0214 consists of the repairing of existing concrete pavement and then diamond grinding the surface to improve smoothness, and the milling and resurfacing of the asphalt sections of roadway that include the bridge decks, shoulders, connecting ramps and the H.O.V. lanes.

LANE CLOSURE INFO

Motorists can expect lane closures Sunday-Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m.

The contract was awarded to Waters Construction Company Inc. of Bridgeport, CT on June 1, 2011 at a cost of $6,646,156.10 and is scheduled to be completed by July 2012.
