Replacement of Retaining Wall On Route 32 at Route 163 in the Town of Montville to Begin August 15, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the project for the replacement of a retaining wall on Route 32 at Route 163 in the Town of Montville will begin August 15, 2011.  The repairs are necessitated due to the heavy rains and subsequent flooding experienced during the rain event of March 2010.
The project consists of the construction of a concrete retaining wall with masonry stone facing to replace the failed wall at the project site.  The project also includes upgrades of the metal beam guiderail, and placement of bituminous concrete pavement adjacent to the newly constructed wall.
The contract was awarded to Barr Inc. of Putnam, Connecticut at a cost of $333,000.00 on August 9, 2011 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2011.
Motorists can expect delays Monday through Friday from 8:00 pm to 6:00 am, and on weekends.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to proceed with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
