Public Information Meeting Regarding Project to Replace Noise Barrier Walls on Route 15 in East Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation (Department) will be holding a Public Information Meeting regarding the replacement of noise barrier walls on Route 15 in East Hartford, Connecticut. The meeting will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at the Silver Lane Elementary School in the gym, 15 Mercer Avenue, East Hartford, Connecticut. Department personnel will be available at 6:30 p.m. to answer questions prior to a formal presentation at 7:00 p.m.
This project proposes to replace the three existing walls with new barrier walls. New walls will comply with Department standards for absorptive noise barrier walls and restore the noise abatement for the residential areas behind the walls.
Construction, at an estimated cost of $4,000,000, will take place in 2012 and 2013.
Department personnel and plans of the project will be available during the meeting for discussion. More detailed information can be obtained through the Department of Transportation’s Office of Engineering, 2800 Berlin Turnpike, Newington, Connecticut, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. excluding holidays.
