Project Starts For Intersection Improvements on Route 69 at Woodtick Road and Long Swamp Road in the Town of Wolcott
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction is scheduled to begin on or about Monday, April 18, 2011, for intersection improvements on Route 69 at Woodtick Road and Long Swamp Road in the Town of Wolcott.
The project consists of total roadway reconstruction; pavement milling and resurfacing, drainage improvements, traffic signal installation, upgrades to guide rail and traffic signs, and wetlands creation.
The first phase of construction activity will be for the clearing and thinning of trees and brush along Route 69, drainage installation and roadway excavation.
LANE CLOSURE INFO: Motorists can expect daytime lane closures on Route 69, Woodtick Road and Long Swamp Road.  The allowable hours of work are:

Route 69, Woodtick Road and Long Swamp Road

Monday - Friday: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.       

Saturday - Sunday: 12 a.m. to 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. to 12 a.m.

DOT Project No. 166-099 was awarded to Colossale Concrete Inc. of Berlin, CT on March 25, 2011, at a cost of $1,083,592.20 and is scheduled for completion in November, 2011.
