Project Begins for the Replacement of Highway Signing on I-84 from the New York State Line to the Newtown/Southbury Town Line
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work has begun for the replacement of highway signing along I-84 in both directions from the New York state line to the Newtown/Southbury town line for a length of approximately 18.5 miles.
The project consists of the replacement of major and minor signs and support structures on Route I-84 in the towns of Danbury, Bethel, Brookfield and Newtown. The work involves the removal of deteriorated signs and the installation of upgraded signs and supports to conform to the Department’s current standards.
DOT Project No. 0174-0308 was awarded on November 23, 2010 to The Quaker Corporation, of Cheshire, CT at a cost of $3,948,950.00 and is scheduled for completion in October 2012.
