Night Closure of I-95 Northbound Ramp to Route 34 Westbound (Exit 47) in New Haven Scheduled to Occur Monday, February 7, 2011 through Friday, February 11, 2011
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that night closures of the I-95 NB ramp to Route 34 WB (Exit 47) will occur Monday, February 7, 2011, through Friday, February 11, 2011, between the hours of 9 PM and 5 AM.  This work is in support of the construction of the new I-95 Northbound to Route 34 Westbound ‘flyover’ bridge between Exits 45 and the interchange of I-95/I-91/Route 34 in New Haven.
Motorists traveling on I-95 NB wishing to access downtown New Haven will be redirected to Ella Grasso Boulevard via Kimberly Avenue (Exit 44).
Motorists can expect delays in the area of the surrounding Interchange including I-95, I-91, and Route 34, surrounding entrance and exit ramps and local roads.  Please plan ahead and consider alternate routes to get to your destination.
The work in Contract E2 is part of the I-95 New Haven Harbor Crossing (NHHC) Corridor Improvement Program and includes the construction of a new ramp (Route 34 Flyover Bridge) from I-95 NB to Route 34 WB at Exit 47 in New Haven. The project also includes reconstruction of the Route 34 WB Bridge over Brewery Street, relocation of the Exit 46 ramps at Long Wharf and Sargent Drives and the construction of a second lane from I-91 SB to I-95 SB. The project is in advance of the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge and the I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange.
