Milling and Resurfacing Project on Route 9 (Southbound) in Essex and Old Saybrook

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 9 (Southbound) in Essex and Old Saybrook between the Route 153/154 overpass (vicinity of Exit 3) and I-95. This project is expected to occur on Monday, September 12, 2011 to the morning of Thursday, September 28, 2011.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Monday - Thursday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
