The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 (Northbound) in Thomaston between Route 254 and the Naugatuck River Overpass.  This project is expected to occur on Monday, August 15, 2011 to the morning of Friday, September 9, 2011.
Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  Motorists can expect lane closures between Exit 38 (Route 254/Waterbury Road) and Exit 41 (Campville Road).  The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday - Thursday evenings).  No work will be performed during the Labor Day Holiday period (Friday - Monday).
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
