Improvements on Route 195 at Chaffeeville Road and Clover Mill Road #1 in the Town of Mansfield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that construction work will begin on September 26, 2011 for the intersection improvements on Route 195 at Chaffeeville Road and Clover Mill Road #1 in the town of Mansfield.
Chaffeeville Road and Clover Mill #1 Road will be reconstructed and realigned to provide better sightline with Route 195 with drainage improvements being installed throughout the project. A 550 foot section of Route 195, adjacent to Chaffeeville Road, will be reconstructed at a lower elevation to provide better sightline. The remaining portion of Route 195 will be milled and a bituminous overlay will be installed for the entire 1400 foot length of Route 195. New roadway signs and pavement markings will be incorporated as part of this project.
LANE CLOSURE INFORMATION
An alternating one-way traffic pattern using traffic control will be utilized on a daily basis to perform the construction work.
The contractor is planning to work Sunday through Thursday nights from 8:00 pm to 4:30 am. These hours may change as project operations dictate.
The contractor will not be allowed to perform any work that will interfere with existing traffic operations during special events at Gampel Pavilion and the Jorgensen Center between 7:00 P.M. to 12:00 A.M.
DOT Project No. 0077-0206 was awarded on August 12, 2011 to American Industries, Inc. of Jewett City, Ct at a cost of $763,865.00 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2012.
