I-84 Westbound Exit 51 Ramp to I-91 North Will Be Closed Overnight on Tuesday, October 25, 2011 During Replacement of Overhead Sign Support on the Bulkeley Bridge in Hartford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the I-84 westbound off ramp to I-91 north (Exit 51) will be closed to traffic at night beginning Tuesday, October 25, 2011 at 9 pm for the replacement of the overhead sign support on the Bulkeley Bridge in Hartford.
The work will involve the installation of the new sign support system which spans Exit 51 on ramp to I-91 north and also the lanes of I-84 westbound.  Traffic may also be halted for a period of 10 minutes on I-84 westbound during placement of the truss section over the roadway. 
A rain date of Wednesday, October 26, 2011 is scheduled of the operation is unable to be completed on October 25, 2011.
During the closure of Exit 51, motorists will be detoured to Exit 50 (Market Street) onto Reverend Moody Overpass and re-enter I-91 north at Jennings Road. The schedule for lane and ramp closures is 9 pm to 6 am.  
DOT Project No. 0170-2662 is being funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (ARRA).  The contract was awarded to ADF, Industries, Inc. on June 19, 2009, at a value of 4,084,860.00.
