Bridge Closure Scheduled for Route 1 (Tomlinson Bridge) Over the Quinnipiac River in New Haven

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a bridge maintenance project will be performed on the Tomlinson Drawbridge requiring closure of Route 1 (Tomlinson Bridge) over the Quinnipiac River in New Haven. A posted detour will be in effect. This project is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, March 23, 2011.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the detour. The regular work schedule for this project is 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. If cancelled due to weather the rain date would be Thursday, March 24, 2011.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.
