Updated Schedule for Ongoing Bridge Repairs on Route 3, Putnam Bridge in the Towns of Wethersfield and Glastonbury

The Department of Transportation is announcing that the completion date for the structural repairs on the Putnam Bridge is being extended to January 31, 2011. The contractor will continue to close the right lane on Route 3 northbound from approximately 5:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday.

The direction of closure is subject to change and motorists are advised that Route 3 southbound lane closures are allowed from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Bridge inspection crews may also be working on the bridge in southbound direction at times.

Motorists are urged to use the Charter Oak Bridge (accessible from Route 5/15, Route 2 and I-91) and other available routes to avoid delays.
