State Project No. 174-351 - Rehabilitation of Culvert No. 06667 in Burlington, Culvert No. 06679 in Granby, and Culvert No. 06701 in Thomaston
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Department’s Office of Engineering is developing plans to rehabilitate Culvert No. 06667 conveying Negro Hill Brook under Route 69 in the Town of Burlington, Culvert No. 06679 conveying Mountain Brook under Route 219 in the Town of Granby, and Culvert No. 06701 conveying an unnamed brook under Route 254 in the Town of Thomaston.
It is the Department’s policy to keep the public informed and involved when such projects are undertaken.  It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project’s development.  If there is adequate interest, an informational meeting will be conducted.  At this time, it is not anticipated that a formal public hearing will be necessary.
This project involves lining the existing culverts with new pipes to prevent further pipe degradation.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in fall 2012, with construction anticipated to start in spring 2013.  Construction activities are anticipated to last approximately two months for each site with minimal disruption to traffic.  At this time, it is proposed that the project will be undertaken with 80% Federal and 20% State funds.
Anyone interested in receiving information on this project may do so by contacting
