Route 219 (Reservoir Road) Bridge over Farmington River Turnpike in New Hartford Reopened to Traffic
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that Bridge #1561 located on Reservoir Road (Route 219) over the East Branch of the Farmington River in the Town of New Hartford has been reopened to traffic.
Motorists can expect alternating one-way traffic for the remaining contract work except during the hours of 7 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.  
The contractor is also be working on another bridge located on Route 181 (Pleasant Valley Road) over the West Branch of the Farmington River in Barkhamsted.
The project consists of guide rail improvements, abrasive blast cleaning and painting of steel superstructure, replacement of structural steel components of the truss system and replacement of portions of the deck beams. 
DOT Project No. 0091-0119 is part of a two-project contract (0005-0109 in Barkhamsted is second project) awarded to Hartland Building and Restoration of East Granby, CT on April 16, 2010 at a cost $4,148,280.00.  The contract is scheduled for completion in November 2010.  Project 5-109 is currently scheduled to be completed by July 2011.
