Night time closure Scheduled for Water Main Work on Route 66 in Middletown

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that on Tuesday, June 8, 2010, Route 66 (Washington Street) between Bernie O’Rourke Drive and Plaza Drive will be reduced to one lane in each direction between the hours of 8:00 pm to 10:00 pm and further restricted to alternating one way traffic between the hours of 10:00 pm to 4:00 am for work on new water main.

The night time lane closures are required so that the contractor can tie the new water main with the existing. These closures will be in addition to the ongoing daytime closures.

DOT Project No. 0082-0287 was awarded on May 26, 2009 to Simscroft–Echo Farms, Inc. of Simsbury, CT. at a cost of $4,005,989 project. The anticipated completion date for the Reconstruction of Route 66 is April 25, 2011.
