Intersection Improvements Routes 6 & 44 at New State Road, Middle Turnpike West and Center Street in Manchester

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that an intersection improvement project on Routes 6 & 44 at New State Road, Middle Turnpike West and Center Street in the Town of Manchester will begin on or about Monday April 5, 2010.

DOT Project No. 76-205, was awarded to Spazzarini Construction Corp. on March 16, 2010, at a cost of $5,278,865.33 and is scheduled to be completed by November 2011.

The Project consists of the reconstruction and realignment of the intersections at Routes 6 & 44, New State Road, Middle Turnpike West and Center Street with improved access to East Catholic High School and Cheney Tech.  New drainage systems will be installed through the project and existing traffic signals will be replaced.

Motorists can expect lane closures with alternating traffic throughout the Project.  The allowable work hours are:

9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limits and precede with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
