Bridge Work on Route 63 over the Metro-North Railroad and Naugatuck River in Naugatuck Progresses To Next Stage
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that, weather permitting, traffic lanes will be realigned on Bridge No. 01034 that carries Route 63 over the Metro-North Railroad and Naugatuck River.  Work is continuing into the next stage of construction and the realignment of traffic will begin on June 7, 2010.
Traffic on Route 63 will be shifted onto the new section of the bridge with one lane of traffic available in each direction.  This stage of construction is anticipated to take approximately 1.5 years and then final paving will be scheduled before the bridge is completely opened to traffic.
Various lane closures may be encountered between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Route 63, Monday through Friday.
DOT Project No. 0087-0138 was awarded to Brunalli Const., Co. of Southington, CT. on October 22, 2008 at a cost of $23,369,683.00 and is scheduled for completion September 9, 2011.
