Bridge Rehabilitation Work Continues on Route 190 in the Towns of Enfield and Suffield
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that alternating one way traffic will be in effect from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. and traffic stops up to 15 minutes in duration will occur from 4 a.m. to 6 a.m. beginning Tuesday, October 19, 2010.  This is the first of several traffic stops as work to replace the bridge bearings progresses.  Message boards will be posted in advance to alert motorists when the traffic impacts will occur.
The work is associated with the replacement of Bridge No. 03295 that carries Route 190 over the Connecticut River between Enfield and Suffield.
It is advised that motorists seek an alternate route.  The Route 140 Bridge located 5 miles south between I-91 in East Windsor and Route 159 in Windsor Locks may be used to bypass the construction.
DOT Project No. 48-184 was awarded to the Rotha Contracting Company of Avon, CT on February 29, 2008.  The project is currently scheduled to be completed by June 2011.
