Traffic Shift on Route 10/U.S. 202 at Drake Hill Road, in Simsbury
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the scheduled implementation of a stage construction traffic shift along Route 10/202 in Simsbury on Wednesday September 2, 2009.
The project consists of the reconstruction of Rte. 10/202 at the intersection of Drake Hill Road and Route 167 to facilitate the construction of the Multi-Use Trail.  The project also includes construction of a retaining wall, drainage improvements and modifications to an existing bridge structure along Route 10/202.
The contract was awarded to Spazzarini Construction of Enfield, CT on March 3, 2009 at a cost of $1,698,972.31 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2009.
Traffic
Motorists can expect construction delays between 9:00 am and 5:00 pm along Route 10/202 throughout the project.  However a minimum of one lane in each direction will be maintained at all times.
The contractor is allowed to halt traffic for up to 10 minutes to facilitate construction activities.
