Traffic Shift on I-95 Northbound between the Howard Avenue Bridge and Exit 46 (Long Wharf Drive) in New Haven Scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a traffic shift on I-95 Northbound between the Howard Avenue Bridge and Exit 46 (Long Wharf Drive) in New Haven is scheduled for Thursday, November 12, 2009.
Traffic on I-95 northbound will be shifted to the left to allow placement of concrete barriers along the work zone for the next stage of construction on the bridge carrying I-95 over Long Wharf Drive Extension.  The contractor is scheduled to place the barrier and install pavement markings to realign traffic through the work zone on Thursday night, November 12, 2009 from 9 PM to 6 AM, weather permitting.  The new alignment of I-95 north will be in place for approximately six (6) months.
The work is being completed under Contract E2 which is in advance of the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge and the I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange.  The contract was awarded to Walsh Construction Company of Sharon, Massachusetts at a cost of $ 91,397,352.00 on September 17, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in November 2011.
