Naugatuck, CT- The Department of Transportation announced today, weather permitting, Brunalli Construction Company, Inc. of Southington, Connecticut, anticipates shifting traffic into stage construction on Route 63 over the Naugatuck River on January 6, 2009.  This project involves replacement of the existing structure and the existing substructure on Route 63 over the Metro-North Railroad and Naugatuck River.

Traffic on Route 63 will be shifted into stage construction in preparation for the demolition of the southern half of the bridge.  One lane will be open to traffic in each direction on the northern half of the existing structure while the southern half of the bridge is removed and half of the new bridge is constructed.  This stage of construction is anticipated to take approximately 1 ½ years.  The project is anticipated to be completed in September 2011.
