Start of Work for a Pavement Preservation Project to Fill and Seal Pavement Cracks on I-84, I-91, I-95, and I-384/US 6
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing start of work for a pavement preservation project to fill and seal pavement cracks on I-84, I-91, I-95, and I-384/US 6.
The objective of pavement preservation is to apply surface treatments that will extend the service life of the road thus reducing ongoing repair and future rehabilitation costs.  The crack filling and sealing work is one of the many treatments used.
The contract was awarded to Costello Industries of Newington, CT at a cost of $1,593,230.00 on September 18, 2009.  The work began on October 1, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of November 2009.

Motorists may experience delays as follows:

I-84 Middlebury & Southbury (night work only)

Sun = both directions from 9p.m. to 6 a.m.

Mon - Wed = eastbound from 8 p.m. and westbound from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Thur = eastbound from 9 p.m. and westbound from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Fri = both directions from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Sat = both directions 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

I-95 Westbrook & Old Saybrook (night work only)

Sun = Northbound 6 p.m. and southbound 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Mon - Wed = both directions 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Thur = both directions 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Fri = northbound 7 p.m. and southbound 8 p.m. to 8 a.m.

Sat = both directions 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

I-91 East Windsor & Enfield (night work only)

Sun = northbound 6 p.m. and southbound 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Mon - Thurs = northbound 7 p.m. and southbound 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Fri = both directions 7 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Sat = both directions 9 p.m. to 9 a.m.

I-384/US 6 Bolton & Manchester (day or night)

Mon - Fri = both directions from 9 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.

Sat - Sun = both directions allow closures anytime until 6 a.m. Monday
