Route 7 Wilton - Traffic Shift and Milling Operations Scheduled for Week of May 11, 2009

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a traffic shift between Wolfpit and Sharp Hill Roads and milling of the roadway at various locations between Olmstead Hill Road and Wolfpit Road on Route 7 the week of May 11, 2009.

Traffic Shift Scheduled Monday Night, May 11

Route 7 northbound and southbound traffic will be shifted to the newly constructed pavement between Wolfpit Road and Sharp Hill Road to allow construction of other portions of the roadway.  The shift will require that the designated right turn lane for Route 7 southbound be eliminated.

It is anticipated that this traffic configuration will remain in place for the next several months.

Milling Scheduled for Three Nights

The contractor will be milling at the following areas on Route 7:

1)     Northern end of the job – just north of Olmstead Hill Road

2)     The intersection of Routes 7 and 33 (Ridgefield Road)

3)     The southern end of the job – in the vicinity of Wolfpit Road

There will be alternating one-way traffic and intermittent traffic stoppages from 8:00pm to 6:00am during these operations.
