Route 7 Detour in Salisbury To Be In Effect October 31, 2009 until November 02, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing the temporary closure of Route 7 at the bridge over the Housatonic River in Salisbury as part of the bridge replacement work beginning 6 AM Saturday, October 31, 2009.
The contractor is removing the steel truss of the existing bridge and will need to close Route 7 during this operation.  The temporary detour is being scheduled weather permitting, and will be in effect October 31, 2009 until November 02, 2009.
Detour signs will be in place and the detour route is:
Northbound:  Route 112 west to Route 41 north to Route 44/126 intersection. Falls Village traffic continue on Route 126 to Route 7.  Northbound thru-traffic will continue along Route 44 to Route 7 in North Canaan
Southbound: Route 126 north to Route 44 west to Route 41 south to Route 112 west to Route 7 near Lime Rock Park
The bridge will remain closed to pedestrians during the temporary detour. Appalachian trail hikers will be detoured westerly along Route 112 and northerly along Dugway Road to reconnect to the trail at Falls Mountain Road on the west side of the Housatonic River.
The Department anticipates the project will be completed in August 2010.
