Route 42 In Cheshire to be Closed Between Whispering Hollow Court and Mountain Road Beginning November 7, 2009 for Bridge Replacement
The Connecticut Department of Transportations is announcing the closure of Route 42 between Whispering Hollow Court and Mountain Road starting November 7, 2009 for a period of seven (7) days in order to replace the bridge over Roaring Brook in the town of Cheshire.
The Connecticut Department of Transportations is announcing the closure of Route 42 between Whispering Hollow Court and Mountain Road starting November 7, 2009 for a period of seven (7) days in order to replace the bridge over Roaring Brook in the town of Cheshire.
The project consists of replacing the bridge deck and minor drainage work along Route 42.  The Contract for this work was awarded to Brunalli Construction Company of Southington, CT, on September 10, 2009, at an estimated value of $650,000.00 and is scheduled for completion in December, 2009.

Traffic Advisory

Route 42 between Whispering Hollow Court and Mountain Road will be closed to all traffic for a 7 day period from November 7, 2009 to November 14, 2009. All work will occur between the hours of 6:00 AM and 8:00 PM.

Prior to and after the 7 day road closure the Contractor will be allowed to close one lane of traffic utilizing alternating one-way traffic along Route 42. 

Motorists are urged to map out an alternate route during the closure period.  Detour signs have been posted to route traffic around the construction site using State Roads.
