Route 15 Southbound To Be Closed to Traffic at the Brainard Road Off Ramp (Exit 87) in Hartford On December 8, 2009
The Department of Transportation is announcing that on Tuesday, December 8, 2009, between the hours of 6 a.m. and 3 p.m., Route 15 southbound will be closed to traffic at the Exit 87 ramp to Brainard Road for paving of the reconstructed shoulder. Route 15 northbound will not be affected by this activity.
Detour – Route 15 southbound will be closed to traffic at the Brainard Road overpass on Tuesday, December 8, 2009. Motorists will be directed off Route 15 southbound at Exit 87. Traffic will be able to re-enter Route 15 southbound from the off ramp. In the event of inclement weather, this closure will be in effect the following day, Wednesday, December 9, 2009. 
After the completion of the paving operation Route 15 South Bound in this area will be reopened to two lanes. 
A lane closure will be required during the 2010 construction season in this area.
Work on this $5.1 million project is being performed by the Arborio Corporation of Cromwell, Connecticut under contract with the Department of Transportation. The anticipated completion of this project is August 2010.
