Road Closure scheduled for February 7, 2009 on Route 136 in Norwalk for work on Washington Avenue Drawbridge over the Norwalk River

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work on the Route 136 Washington Avenue Drawbridge over the Norwalk River is scheduled for Saturday, February 7, 2009 beginning at 2 a.m. until Monday February 9, 2009 at 5 a.m.

The Contractor, Hartland Building and Restoration, will be completing rehabilitation work on the span locks for the bridge.

Route 136 will be closed between Water Street and Goldstein Place. Detour signs will be in place to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic to alternate routes in the area. Delays are expected.

Water traffic: Vessels requiring a full bridge opening during the closure must contact the bridge operator. All other vessels will not be affected by the closure.
