Resurfacing Route 1 from Jefferson Avenue to the I-95 overpass in New London

The State Department of Transportation announced today that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 1 from Jefferson Avenue to the I-95 overpass in New London. This project is scheduled to begin on Thursday, October 1, 2009, and continue through Tuesday, October 6, 2009.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone. The regular work schedule for this project is 8:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. (Sunday – Friday evenings).

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
