Repairs to the Existing Pearl Harbor Memorial  Bridge (Q-Bridge) on I-95 in New Haven Between Exits 48 and 50 to Begin May 11, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that repairs to the existing Pearl Harbor Memorial Bridge (Q-Bridge) are scheduled to begin Monday, May 11, 2009.
The Project consists of repairs to the concrete bridge deck, structural steel, bridge piers, and navigational lighting.
The contractor expects to begin work on Monday, May 11, 2009 with the bridge pier repairs and bearing pad repairs. Repairs to the bridge deck and structural steel will follow.
Motorists can expect lane closures on I-95 between Exits 48 and 50 in the Northbound and Southbound direction. The allowable hours of work are:
Interstate 95
  • I-95 North: Monday - Thursday 10 pm to 6 am
  • I-95 South: Monday - Thursday 10 pm to 6 am
  • I-95 North: Friday 11 pm to 7 am
  • I-95 South: Friday 11 pm to 8 am
  • I-95 North: Saturday 11 pm to 9 am
  • I-95 South: Saturday Midnight to 9 am
In addition, the contractor is allowed to close the I-95 SB to I-91 NB exit ramp for a total of eight nights. This work is expected to start after Labor Day.
The contract was awarded to Mohawk Northeast, Inc. on April 6, 2009 at a cost of $2,998,375.00 and is scheduled to be completed by October 31, 2009.
