The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that repairs will begin on twin 48 inch pipes that carry Pendleton Hill Brook under Route 49 in the town of North Stonington the week of December 7, 2009.
The project consists of the repair of two 48 inch corrugated metal pipes carrying Pendleton Hill Brook under Route 49 located approximately one tenth of a mile from Route 216  (Clark Falls Road).  The work is being performed by Tilcon Connecticut, Inc. of New Britain CT and was initiated under an emergency declaration by the Commissioner for the Department of Transportation because of the significant deterioration found during a recent inspection.  Some road repairs will also be completed to fill in settlement that has occurred in the northbound direction.
