The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the reconstruction of Scott Road, Phase 1, in the Town of Prospect and the City of Waterbury, is scheduled to begin on Friday March 27, 2009.
The project consists of the new construction of a portion of Austin Road in the City of Waterbury to the intersection of Scott Road in the Town of Prospect.  Minor widening and alignment improvements, along with drainage upgrades will be performed along Scott Road, south to the intersection of Nicholas Court.
The first phase of construction will include clearing and grubbing operations throughout the project limits.  The contractor will then focus their construction activities on the new road construction area on Austin Road.
The contract was awarded to NJR Construction of Harwinton, CT on November 17, 2008 at a cost of $636,761.55 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2009.
Motorists can expect alternating one way traffic throughout the project Monday through Friday from 8:30 am to 7:00 pm.
The contractor is allowed to halt traffic for up to 10 minutes to facilitate construction activities.
