Prospect Street Bridge over the Providence & Worcester Railroad in City of Middletown will be Closed to Traffic Beginning December 14, 2009
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Prospect Street Bridge over the Providence & Worcester Railroad will be closed December 14, 2009 so work on the bridge structure can begin.
DOT Project No. 0082-0286 & 82-289 consists of the reconstruction of the Prospect Street and Pearl Street bridges over the Providence & Worcester Railroad. Prospect Street will be closed to through traffic between Spring Street and Grand Street and a detour will be setup using Spring Street, High Street and Grand Street. The bridge will remain closed until the project is completed. The anticipated completion date is September 30, 2010.
The Pearl Street bridge which was previously closed is now opened to traffic.
The project was awarded to Rotha Construction Company Inc. of Avon, CT. on April 27, 2009 at a cost of $6,949,628. The contract is scheduled to be completed in September of 2010.
