Pine Street in Bristol – Nightwork and Traffic Shift beginning Monday, July 13, 2009
The Department of Transportation is announcing that night work will begin on Pine Street on July 13th and continue for next two weeks. In association with this work, lane closures and/or traffic detours can be expected between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. Motorists will also experience a traffic shift between Bishop Street and Benham Street.
The nighttime lane closures and traffic shift will facilitate the installation of a new water main on Pine Street between Emmett Street and Bishop Street.  The relocation of the water main will allow the future relocation of overhead utilities and subsequent reconstruction of Pine Street associated with the relocation of Route 72.  
Construction signs will be utilized to warn motorists of the work zone and any detour routes.
This work is part of the ongoing Route 72 Relocation project in Bristol and Plainville.
