Pavement Preservation Project Begins for Routes 2, 2A, and Route 693 in the Towns of Norwich, Bozrah, Montville and Waterford
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that pavement preservation work on Routes 2 (Norwich and Bozrah), 2A (Montville), and 693 (Waterford) will begin on August 11, 2009.
The objective of pavement preservation is to apply surface treatments that will extend the service life of the road thus reducing ongoing repair and future rehabilitation costs.  Preservation treatments may include a thin surface treatment, joint and crack sealing, or a milling and overlay of the wearing surface.
The contract was awarded to American Industries, Inc. of Jewett City, CT at a cost of $1,488,870.00 on May 29, 2009 and is scheduled to be completed in September 2009.
A majority of the work will occur during the night time hours and on some weekends.  Traffic may experience delays as follows:

Route 2 and 693

Monday-Friday from 9 AM – 3 PM and 6 PM to 6 AM

Route 2A

Monday-Friday from 9 AM – 3 PM and 7 PM to 6 AM
