Nighttime Closure of Long Wharf Drive Extension in New Haven Scheduled to Start on June 8, 2009

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that a detour will be in effect for the closure of Long Wharf Drive Extension under I-95 between Long Wharf Drive and Sargent Drive in New Haven.  The closure will occur weeknights, Monday thru Friday, from 10:00 PM to 5:00 AM, beginning June 8^th to June 29^th, 2009. Work may be rescheduled due to inclement weather.

This closure is required for demolition of a portion of the bridge carrying I-95 over Long Wharf Drive Extension and to facilitate steel erection for the new bridge. The bridge is being widened as part of Contract E2 and is part of the I-95 corridor improvement program that includes the construction of the new Pearl Harbor Memorial (Q) Bridge and I-95/I-91/Route 34 Interchange.

A detour will be in place to direct motorists to Sargent Drive via Canal Dock Road.
