January 10^th Weekend Closure Scheduled for Route 136 Bridge over the Norwalk River in Norwalk Being Rescheduled Due to Weather.

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work scheduled for the upcoming weekend, January 10 thru the 12, for work on the Route 136 Bridge over the Norwalk River is being rescheduled for Saturday, January 17, 2009 beginning at 2 a.m. until Monday January 19, 2009 at 5 a.m.

The Contractor, Hartland Building and Restoration, will be completing rehabilitation work on the span locks for the bridge. Vehicular and pedestrian traffic will be detoured during the bridge closure.

Water traffic needing a full bridge opening will not be restricted but must contact the bridge for an opening. Delays are expected. Water traffic not requiring a full opening will not be affected.
