I-395 Culvert Rehabilitation over  Unnamed Brook in the Town of Thompson
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that the Department's Office of Engineering is developing plans to rehabilitate two culverts that carry northbound and southbound I-395 over an unnamed watercourse, between Interchanges #98 and #99 in the Town of Thompson.
"It is the Department's policy to keep persons informed and involved when such projects are undertaken," said Commissioner Joseph F. Marie. "It is important that the community share its concerns with us to assist in the project's development." At this time, it is anticipated that neither a formal public hearing nor a public informational meeting will be necessary.
The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate the deteriorating 7-foot and 8-foot diameter corrugated metal culverts by sliplining with new liner pipes.
The present schedule indicates that the design will be completed in 2011, with construction anticipated to start in 2012. This project will be undertaken with 90% federal and 10% state funds.

Anyone interested in receiving information on this project may do so by contacting Mr. Scott A. Hill, P.E., Manager of State Design, at (860) 594-3272, or by e-mail at Scott.Hill@ct.gov. Please make reference to Project No. 170-2875 – Thompson.
