Construction Begins For An Additional Parking Lot at the Branford Railroad Station in the Town of Branford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that work has begun for the construction of an additional parking lot at the Branford Railroad Station.

The new parking lot will provide an additional 300 parking spaces. It will also provide minor upgrading to the existing lot and drainage improvements. The new parking lot will be west of the existing lot which is located off Maple Street.

The contract for this work was awarded to Guerrera Construction Company, Inc. of 154 Christian Street, Oxford, CT, at a cost of $2,629,951.00 on August 28, 2009 and is scheduled for completion on July 2, 2011.

The construction project is one of several transportation infrastructure initiatives being funded under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
