Construction Activity to Begin for the Rehabilitation of Lapham Avenue Bridge over Route 15 in the Town of New Canaan
The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that work to complete the rehabilitation of the Lapham Avenue Bridge over Route 15 in the Town of New Canaan will begin the week of August 10, 2009.
The work is part of the rehabilitation project for two structures - Route 15 over the Five Mile River and the Lapham Avenue overpass.  The work at the Lampham Avenue Bridge is for the repair of a concrete section of the bridge fascia on the east side of structure over Route 15 northbound.
The contract was awarded to New England Road, Inc. of Clinton, Ct on May 16, 2008 at a cost of $1,500,265.00 and is scheduled for completion September 30, 2009.

Vehicle Advisory

The vertical clearance at the overpass will be reduced during the construction work.  Advance low clearance warning signs, illumination and message boards have been installed to advise motorists of reduced clearance.

A reminder that commercial vehicles and any vehicle greater than eight feet in height are not allowed on the parkway unless a permit has been issued by the State Traffic Commission.  Please do not enter parkway system.  Violators will be prosecuted.  Go to https://www.ct.gov/dot/cwp/view.asp?A=1394&Q=259554 for additional information.

Monday – Thursday   9PM to 6AM

Friday 9PM to Saturday 8AM
