The Department of Transportation is announcing that beginning June 15, 2009, construction will be commencing for the realignment of route 319 (Orcutville Road) between Gale Drive and Furnace Avenue in Stafford. Traffic will experience delays in the Eastbound and Westbound directions of Route 319 between Gale Drive and Furnace Avenue during the project.

Alternating one-way traffic may exist between the hours of 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for the installation of a drainage system, replacement of two existing culverts, and reconstruction of approximately 3000 feet of Route 319.

Work on this $1.2 million project is being performed by King Construction Inc. of Bloomfield under contract with the Connecticut Department of Transportation.  The anticipated completion date of this project is July 9, 2010.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and to use caution through this and all other construction work zones.
