ยท        Bridge Rehabilitation Work Continues on Route 190 over Connecticut River Between Enfield and Suffield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing a new traffic shift and associated line striping of Route 190 over the Connecticut River between Enfield and Suffield on April 19, 2009.  The work is part of a contract that was awarded to the Rotha Contracting Company of Avon, CT on February 29, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in August of 2010.    

Traffic

Traffic will be restricted to alternating one way between 7AM and 4PM. 

It is advised that motorists use an alternate route. 

Route 140 bridge located 5 miles south between I-91 in East Windsor and Route 159 in Windsor Locks to bypass the construction. 

Police officers and flag personnel will be directing traffic

Construction signing will be in use through the construction area and the posted speed limit of 35 MPH will be enforced.

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and proceed with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
