Bridge Inspections the Weekend of May 16 and 17 in Manchester, East Hartford, Wethersfield and Hartford

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that routine bridge inspections will be performed on Interstates 84 and 91 in Manchester, East Hartford, Wethersfield and Hartford on Saturday, May 16, and Sunday, May 17, 2009.

The inspections will take place at the following locations and times:

  • Saturday, May 16, 2009 - I-84 (westbound) between Exits 60 and 59 in Manchester and East Hartford, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 16, 2009 – I-91 (northbound) between Exits 25 and 27 in Wethersfield, 6:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, May 16, 2009 - I-91 (southbound) Exit 30 off-ramp in Hartford, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (contingency date of Sunday May 17, 2009).  A Detour will be in place and State Police and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists onto the detour route (Exit 27 to Route 15 North to I-84 East).

  • Sunday, May 17, 2009 - I-84 (eastbound) between Exits 59 and 63 in East Hartford and Manchester, 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to the schedules may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work areas.
