Bridge Inspection/Ramp Closure - I-84 Westbound to Route 8 Southbound, Exit 19 off-ramp in Waterbury

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that routine Bridge inspection work will be performed on the I-84 Westbound to Route 8 Southbound Exit 19 off-ramp in Waterbury (Waterbury Stacks).  The ramp will be closed to traffic during the inspection process. An Exit 17 detour will be in place at that time.  The inspection is scheduled to take place on Sunday, January 25, 2009. 

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to close the I-84 Westbound Exit 19 off-ramp to Route 8 Southbound. The work schedule for the inspection is 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.  Motorists are encouraged to use the Exit 17 detour which will be in place for motorists to reconnect with Route 8 southbound.  

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
