Bridge Inspection and Detour - Route 8 (Southbound) between Exits 42 and 41 in Litchfield

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced today that a routine bridge inspection will be performed on Route 8 (Southbound) between Exits 42 and 41 in Litchfield. This inspection is scheduled to take place on Monday, March 23, 2009 and will require that southbound traffic be detoured.

Traffic control personnel, State Troopers and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists onto the detour routes (Routes 118 and 254, westbound and southbound, respectively). The bridge inspection is scheduled to take place between 10:00 p.m. and 4:00 a.m.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
