24-hour Bridge work to begin on Baldwin Bridge carrying I-95 over Connecticut River in Old Saybrook and Old Lyme
The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that 24-hour repairs on the I-95 bridge over Connecticut River (Baldwin Bridge) are scheduled to start Thursday morning September 17, 2009, weather permitting.
Lane closures are scheduled beginning at 6 am Thursday and running 24-hours a day until 6 am Monday.  The northbound direction will be affected 9/17-9/21 and the southbound direction 9/24-9/28. In case of inclement weather the contractor may need to work 10/1-10/5/09.
Normal marine traffic should not be affected by this work.

The contract was awarded to Blakeslee, Arpaia and Chapman, Inc. of Branford, CT on June 12, 2009 at a cost of $2,055,702.00 and is scheduled to be completed by early October.
