Ellington, Connecticut- The Connecticut Department of Transportation is announcing that on or about September 23, 2008 Windermere Avenue Bridge in the town of Ellington will be closed to traffic for approximately five (5) days. This will allow the contractor to relocate an existing 18” sanitary sewer and construction of sanitary sewer Manhole.

Traffic will be detoured with appropriate signage as below:

East Bound Traffic:

Take Route 286 South ( Pinney Street), at the five corners take left on Route 74 East ( Windsorville Road )  take left on Route 83 North ( Windsor Road ), Left on Windermere Avenue.

West Bound Traffic:

Take left on Windermere Avenue, right on Route 83 South ( Windsor Avenue ), Right on Route 74 West (Windsorville Road), at the five corners take right on Route 286 North ( Pinney Street), to Windermere Avenue.

The contract was awarded to Paganelli Construction Corporation of Windsor Locks, Connecticut at an estimated cost of $1,118,849.11 on July 16, 2008 and is scheduled to be completed in October 2009.   

Motorists are urged to obey the posted speed limit and proceed with caution through this and all other construction work zones.
