Bureau of Engineering and Highway Operations
In general, on major expressways any operation that is considered an interference with normal traffic movements will not be permitted on dates and times noted below. For all other roadways, allowable operations will be determined on a project by project basis.
Routine maintenance work will not be scheduled during these times. Only work of an emergency nature will be considered.
Memorial Day – Observed on Monday 05/26/2008
From 6 AM Friday 05/23/2008 to 8 PM Tuesday 05/27/2008
Independence Day – Observed on Friday, 07/04/2008
From 6 AM Thursday 07/03/2008 to 8 PM Monday 07/07/2008
Labor Day – Observed on Monday 09/01/2008
From 6 AM Friday 08/29/2008 to 8 PM Tuesday 09/02/2008
Additional Interstate Restrictions - Memorial Day thru Labor Day
In addition to the above limitations, no construction work will be scheduled that will interfere with existing traffic operations on I-95, I-91, I-84, and Route 15 on all weekends commencing at 6 a.m. Friday and ending 12:01 a.m. Monday. Maintenance Operations will not be scheduled from 6 a.m. Friday and ending 10 p.m. Sunday: only work of an emergency nature will be considered.
