NEWINGTON, Conn.-State Transportation Commissioner Joseph F. Marie announced today that a Signal Replacement project will be performed on

Route 5 from Route 291 to Scantic Road and on Route 194 from

Route 5 to Route 30 in the Town of South Windsor. This project is scheduled to occur on or about Saturday, August 16, 2008 and Sunday, August 17, 2008.

Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will be utilized to guide motorists through the work zone.  The regular work schedule for this project is 5:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. (Saturday & Sunday). 

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions.  Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving through the work area.
